Rita Nanga Women's Group
St.
Rita Nanga Women's Group is a community-based organization established
in 1998 with the intent of integrating Home Based Care and support for
children orphaned by AIDS. The organization aims to build a network of
community caregivers who are motivated enough to contribute towards support
and care for orphans through a participatory mechanism. The group seeks
to meet the needs of orphans and other vulnerable children through health
care, nutrition and food security and education. The organization is managed
by a six-member management committee, which also constitutes the Board.
A project coordinator manages the daily operations of the group. All members
serve the group voluntarily.
Mission:
The organization's mission is to offer sustainable Home-Based Orphan support.
Three
main objectives:

To contribute directly to the orphans' well-being by providing care
and support

To mobilize the community to contribute towards supporting orphans

To enhance and strengthen networking and collaboration among stakeholders
Activities

organization has requested for funds from the Hope for African Children
Initiative to expand the following HIV/AIDS- focused activities:
